Fast & Furious: Supercharged is the latest attraction at Universal Studios Hollywood that I’ve had the fortune to collaborate on. While simultaneously bringing a certain boy wizard to life, our team at Universal Creative brought me in on the early stages of this attraction to build upon the projection systems I helped develop originally for King Kong 360-3D.
We updated the technology allowing for a bigger, brighter, and more immersive experience with nearly 80 megapixels per eye of stereoscopic imagery being projected at 60 fps. Quite a far cry from the 20+ megapixels of King Kong. We also gave the audio system a complete redesign to really take things to next level.
Since I was fairly entrenched in the Wizarding World, I handed over the reigns on this attraction after completing some of the initial design work to Arron Szabo. Arron had designed the original audio system for King Kong 360-3D for me, when he worked for Pro Sound. Having him join our team has been a huge help, and I’m very proud of the work he’s been doing to make this project a reality.
